There is only one mistake keeping this from being great, but it's a BIG mistake. Sorry for the low score but I can't give you any better while the VOLUME IS THIS OUT OF CONTROL!

Oh my god, I know that the first two Sonic games kind of had music that was kind of constantly loud overall but not like this! You're going to damage your speakers (or someone else's). I can hear the sound distorting because it's so damn loud.

Please fix! I would love to hear this song re-balanced. The beats underneath all the noise sound good (...I think).

Nearly great, but not quite there

I think you've got a quite solid grip on the song, and I think it's pretty damn close to being a great recreation. The only thing stopping me from giving it a higher score is that I think the instruments' volumes are a little off in relation to each other, and the reverb is a little too much IMO.

Otherwise good work, and keep it up!

Great stuff-no tampering with the good parts of the original, but definitely enhanced with attention to detail and great choice of the "explosion" sound effect. I actually prefer it to the original! :) (Not something that happens often for me)

The main instrument is indeed awesome! :) I love the minimalist beginning and the slow addition of other instrument voices to the mix. Reminds me of somewhere in between the original underworld theme and the Super Mario RPG mix.

Only thing keeping me from voting 5/5 and 10/10 is, uhm, I want MORE! This is good stuff, you should extend the song and develop it a bit more.

This is one of my favorite video game mixes on NewGrounds. Mysterious, dark, well-balanced attention to instrumentation and dynamics, and even a few chirping metroids here and there for extra spookiness. Well done!

I love the chill nature of the melody + harmony instruments. The sound effects are nice too, and balanced in chill-ness.

Only thing keeping it from 10/10 is that some of the instrument volumes seem to compete with each other at certain parts. Needs some small tweaking. Otherwise fantastic!

Might want to mention that the beginning and end of the loop are styled after the "Metroid: Zero Mission" mix of the original song.

I've downloaded lots of video game remixes from NewGrounds' Audio portal as well as OC Remix. I also have a huge library of original video game music that I listen to probably more than any other genre (yes, I know, NERD ALERT! :) So, I don't know if that makes what I'm about to say different in any way, but I thought I'd give you that bit of background so that this next statement is in context:

This is probably my favorite Mega Man remix ever. Forget which website I went to, or anything else...this is amazing stuff! =D

It also has fantastic reply value. I listened to this song on loop I don't know how many times the night I first downloaded it, but it went on for a very long time. Like over an hour. I was just chillin', doing some work on my desktop across the room, later napping...the song does equally well as background music or something to actively listen to.

The drum work in particular is really, really impressive! Whatever you're doing to make the drum volume jump up and down like that...that's fantastic. Magical, even!

You should totally try out some other Mega Man 2 music in similar styles. Or dissimilar styles. You're good. I'd love to hear what those others would sound like. :)
